GSMA celebrates a decade of pure Freestyle Motocross (FMX) action and entertainment in Europe, The Gladiator Games X. In 2000, local mx legend and FMX pioneer, Petr Kuchar and GSMA’s Marek Rejman visited an Italian Super cross race. The starting line was filled with stars like McGrath, Tortelli, Windham and others. In the riders field was also Spains Edgar Torronteras and Germany’s Lukas Weis. They were not at the top of the race, but received the audience’s greatest attention from the tricks they performed on the jumps. That day, Marek told Petr “forget racing, learn this and we will organize this type of event in the Czech Republic and we will bring this Torronteras guy”. Within sever months, Petr put together a bag of tricks and on 22 September, 2000 was the first pure Freestyle Motocross event in Europe.
Since 2000, Freestyle Motocross went threw many evolutionary changes. From the life styles of the riders them selves, the tricks performed from right side up to all up side down and even to the style format of the events. GSMA has always tried to be a step ahead and has leaded its competitors with innovation. GSMA is taking a freestyle sport away from the rules of competition and bringing you pure entertainment.
Throughout the years of event creativity, GSMA has hosted the world’s best athletes, year after year. A long list of some 42 riders from Mad Mike Jones and Edgar Torronteras to Robbie Maddison and Matt Rebeaud have entertained the crowds through the modern built coliseum scheme. Every rider who has ever attended this event is being invited to join the celebration and gala night of 10 years of FMX, including the BMX stars Matt Hofman and Kevin Robinson.
Gladiator Games 10 will be associated in a total of four special events that will be held November 27th and 28th. The FMX Rider of the Decade Awards, The Prodigy concert, The Gladiator Games main event and the Gala Gladiator Games Afterparty.
Freestyle Motocross riders are absolutely unique beings. What goes on in a riders mind before a history making run. The feelings in the stomach before sticking a new trick to dirt can only be described by the look in the eye of this new warrior.
